Cardiology Center Dr Jose Pascual Salas experiences?

Recommended Posts

My father has been seeing Dr Hector Briseno for several years now.  But the problem is that apparently Dr Briseno is just too busy, everytime my father emails him about questions and problems, time and time again, he is ignored (he even calls him to tell him to check his email.)  My father needs a cardiologist he can count on.  Also, Dr. Briseno changed his medicine around so much he feels terrrible all the time, much much worse than how he felt before he began seeing Briseno.  Each time he mentions this to Dr. Briseno, he tells him that his body will soon adjust.  In two years it hasn't yet.   So now he wants to try a new cardiologist.  Has anybody been to the Cardiology Center with Dr. Jose Pascual Salas Llamas, and what were your experiences?  They are on the carretera near Ajijic, I'm surprised I have never seen anybody mention them before.

My friend has been to Salas, done that 'nough said, and he and his wife swear by Dr. Briseno.

Chapala Med has a team of 3 cardiologists. Each of them has a clearly defined role and sub-specialty. Each of them trained in Canada.   Dr. Sobrino is an exceptional clinician and diagnostician. He works hard to make sure you don't end up in a CATH lab unnecessarily.

I hope one of the cardiologists has super xray vision then, because there is no cath lab anywhere closer than Guadalajara, even your new 'state of the art" hospital does not seem to offer this. I did a lot of research on this before forking over $4,000 US. There is simply no way around it. The only way to see if there is damage, or other problems is to put a camera right inside the heart and poke around like a little submarine.

I would try Dra, Gaby at Quality Care, she is an internal medicine specialist and an excellent doctor. She is extremely knowledgeable on cardio and prescription matters, and if she doesn't know, she will consult with Dr. Briseno. They all work as team there, and it seems to be working very well

The thing you have to remember about Dr. Briseno is that he is a heart SURGEON. An extremely high demand, high pressure profession. He is also a cardiologist, of course, he studied 4 years at the heart medical school in Mexico City, and his father was/is a heart surgeon. I am extremely grateful that he assembled a team of Guadalajara medical specialists to come here. He had no reason to leave Guadalajara at all. He seems to have a true love for the Lake Chapala area and when he sees her, I'll bet all the city stress disappears.

I also have a very good mechanic, if I brought in my truck complaining the transmission is making a noise, he is not going to be staring at it, tapping it with a hammer, he is going to get down and dirty, drop the transmission, and fix the problem.

TeleZ4 is correct; Dr.Hector Briseño is a cardiac interventionist.  He has successfully intervened in three of my heart attacks, once with his father assisting, and saved my bacon.  His careful  adjustment of my medications remains unchanged to this day, and I am quite stable as a result of his excellent attention.

In a more recent gastroenterologic emergency, Dr. Hector Valenzuela, also with Quality Care/Medicos Especialistas, did the necessary abdominal surgery, a colectomy with reconnection, which was completely successful.

I have no hesitation in recommending Quality Care for your medical needs. They are an extremely professional group of excellent physicians dedicated to the highest standards of medical practice.

cardiology and cardiac surgery are two very different fields, both highly specialized but both arrived at by different routes.  A newly minted doctor can go into general surgery residency for 4-6 years(not sure how many) then specialize in thoracic and vascular surgery and finally do a residency or fellowship in cardiac surgery. OR he can go do an internal medicine residency and follow that with a cardiology residence. Both paths are very different from each other and would take a very long time to do both plus you have to practice each to become good at them.

(I am not a doctor but spent most of my life in the medical field)

We've been told by Dr. Briseno to NEVER send him an email, he is busy and gets tooooo many to answer (only so many hours in a day). AND would you expect your specialist NOB to answer an email giving free medical advice? heck you can barely get a receptionist to confirm/make an appointment NOB.  As for Dr. Pascual I have no information.

Lots of cardiology scams, be prepared to get a second opinion and know who to get it from in the event you are told you are in danger.

In the event that you're having cardiac issues requiring a stent, I'd recommend finding out where the procedure is to be conducted.  There are a few places you DON'T want to go:  understaffed, rundown facilities, for instance, were used in one case I know of. Just be sure it's a hospital you or others you know can recommend.

Beware the friendly doctor who steers you toward one of the cardiologists on his trusted team of specialists whose test will reveal a life threatening situation that needs IMMEDIATE remedy or you could die. Lucky for you there just happens to be a lab or surgery available right now! Hurry, hurry, hurry!

On the other hand, how are you going to know who to believe when you're experiencing the symptoms?  A woman many of us know didn't go    to the doctor and she died last month of a heart attack in her sleep.  If so many of the docs are just looking for work, a second opinion probably wouldn't matter.

That is why the doctors who do this are so successful. My friend was told the EKG revealed this life-threatening situation. “Lucky” for him Friendly Doctor’s trusted cardiologist just happened to be there and available for the procedure. Who was going to argue? Four thousand US dollars and several months later when he felt no relief of symptoms he consulted another cardiologist. He did not say he’d had anything done, just asked what doc would recommend looking at an EKG like this. Cardiologist said he’d recommend nothing. It was a normal EKG for a man his age.

Doctors who do this do not do it to every patient. They have a talent for victim selection. So, they always have patients to highly recommend them.
