Temporary to Permanent Residency question

It seems that you would have known that you would need to be at home in Mexico at the time of your visa renewals, as you have done them before, and certainly for the change to Residente Permanente.  If you cannot change your plans, I suggest that you consult with INM to find out if you can make application just before you leave, then get their up to 60 day letter of permission to exit and re-enter. That would seem to be a possible option.

Otherwise, your visas would expire outside of Mexico, and if you came back as a tourist, they would certainly be a dead issue, requiring you to go to a Consulate and start all over again; or remain a 180 day tourist.

Plan ahead & consult with INM ASAP, or change your travel plans.

You may apply within 30 days of expiration. If it expires when you are out of the country you need to start over at a MX consulate. If you own property in Mexico going back to tourist would not be wise.
