Reliable package delivery service

While I never had problems in the past I have had two major ones in the past couple of months with items sent via USPS International and am looking for alternatives. A box of coffee sent as a gift from a roastery in Atlanta was professionally packaged and shipped and the paperwork filled out correctly but took a month to arrive and when it did arrive all I got was a notice from the Chapala P.O. wanting me to pay duties that were five times the cost of the contents! A second package (tea) shipped by the same method on November 14th never arrived at all and fell off of the tracking radar on arrival in Mexico City on 11/17. So...never again with USPS or Estefeta.

I have seen ads for "Extended Roads Package Delivery Service"  in the Ojo but don't know them. They apparently bring packages in from McAllen TX to SMA and then use FedEx from there. Anyone know them, or have any other services (DHL? UPS?) to recommend for an occasional lightweight package?

I have used Alex Peterson several times to bring items back from the states.   You order an item online and have it sent to Alex's address in Larado and he drives to Texas once a month or every 6 weeks and brings the items back with him.  His cell number is 333-577-7765.  Just give him a call and he will explain.

Anyone but fedex.  And then there was a news story last week were some people were paid 30-some dollars as a refund for a lost package that contained a half million $ of whatever.  UPS

My ex gets all my mail at her home in TX.  She insists on forwording documents, bank cards, etc, to me by Fed Ex.  Maybe FedEx is the cats' ### in the USA but here they get a 1.1 rating.  They deserve even less.

I haven’t done many but never had a problem with either FedX, DHL nor Estafeta. I often get a TIP online and it is shipped from Mexico City via either DHL or lately Estafeta. Always delivered to me in the US w/in 3 days. I’ve shipped a couple of legal documents from the US and from Mexico to the US without any problems.
