Mainecoons
This is beginning to look like a really cold winter here. The fireplace in our house is basically useless. Wondering if anyone sells and installs here U.S. style fireplace inserts with circulating fans that burn wood? Had one in our Albuquerque house and it worked really well. babyface
There is a Napoleon store next to Strom White Movers. I have heard that they sell and install inserts. You may want to give them a call to see what sizes, wood or gas, etc. Located on the carretera, lake side, west Ajijic.

Mainecoons
The fireplace draws so well it sucks all the heat out. That is the problem. Sure don't need an exhaust fan for it. Thanks for the info about the Napoleon store, will check that out ASAP.
Bisbee Gal
We installed a propane ventless log set and it is working quite nicely (the chimney is capped). The fireplace was already piped with gas (I think originally it was designed as a gas starter to a wood fire). We got the log set from Amazon Mexico after pricing them locally. It arrived in a week, free Prime delivery and was about half the price of what we saw locally.

mkshawn
Just realized that that link takes you to ELECTRIC Inserts, not good economics here. Below is the req'd link for a ventless log set in propane https://napoleonfireplaces.com/products_categories/vent-free-gas-log-sets/
Bisbee Gal
This is the one we bought. In mid-October the price we paid was 3901 pesos, including delivery. It is significantly higher now: https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B006ZGBU9I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=
