Christmas Eve Dinner

Cincy's Wife

Recommended Posts

We have guests from NOB staying over Christmas and are looking for restaurant recommendations for Christmas Eve.  Although we've dined at many of the local restaurants we don't usually go out Christmas Eve so not sure if there's anything special being hosted that evening and haven't found anything advertised.  Ideally we would like to dine ~7pm, sit down meal (not buffet), preferably a good wine selection and it's always special when there's live music.  Thanks for any suggestions!

One place you can count on for dinner is the Nueva Posada, since it is a hotel.  You can check with Hacienda del Lago, too.

In the new Ojo, the following eateries are advertising Christmas EVE dinners:

La Mision 12:30PM until 9:30PM

Arileo (hours not shown)

Bar Jamon in SJC

Hacienda de Don Pedro (1PM to 8PM)

Watch the next few Guadalajara Reporters as they normally show holiday restaurant hours and/or ads.

FYI to Harry: Manix's ad in the Ojo shows their 2 seatings on 12/25 but doesn't mention 12/24 specifically as either open or closed.

The question is about Christmas Eve, Noche Buena, the Mexican family‘s time to be together for religious festivities and/or a large family meal. Many places might be closed for that reason after about 5PM or even earlier.

Restaurants may, or may not be open on Christmas day, but several will be catering to expat retirees for a Christmas dinner, as mentioned above, on the 25th.   Christmas day is, otherwise, pretty quiet as Mexican families are either sleeping late and/or enjoying family time at home or at the beach resorts on the coast.
