Bisbee Gal
Heading over there for a visit and have some specific shopping questions that locals may be able to help me with. Is there a similar expat forum in SMA?
Prudent
There are a number of San Miguel groups. Have you googled them? There is also a Yahoo group .

Of course I googled. The groups I found weren't very active (not many recent posts). Hoping someone knows one that is more active than what I've found. Bisbee Gal
Thanks Sonia. We were there last year for a month. Think I found an answer to our shopping question. While we like Ajijic weather better than SMA, you San Miguelitos surely have us beat when it comes to the restaurant scene.
Kevin K
By far the biggest group is the (in)famous Civil List on Yahoo (known by many as the Snivel List given the amount of whining that occurs). Definitely worth joining:https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Civil_SMA/info

Mainecoons
Isn't it nice that participation is voluntary and if one doesn't like what is being discussed one can just ignore the whole thing? Of course that means there's no opportunity to make sideways remarks on said message boards.

Readers Digest says laughter is the best medicine and these fora provide that on almost a daily basis, especially when whining is involved.
ComputerGuy
As long as we are having fun, fora is reserved for discussion in a public square in ancient Rome. Forums is the correct word for here, although I do like the sound of fora... and I suppose an argument could be made that this is a public square... . ComputerGuy
OMG. You can't keep your filthy fingers away, can you. DS. Here we are trying to have a little fun. You are the obnoxious little bully in the sandbox.
