Temporal Visa and the Temporary Import Program (TIP)

I drove to Ajijic from Calgary Alberta last week.  I obtained a Temporary Import Sticker for my car at Nogales crossing.  Since then I've been to the Chapala immigration office and applied for my Temporal Visa.  I have a NUT number and am waiting for the final approval.  My understanding is that the TIP and my passport are connected.  I need to let Aduanas know when my Temporal Visa is approved so that the time frames match.  My question is when and how do I contact Aduanas to extend my TIP?  Really need current information in this regard.  Many thanks

I suggest that you do it immediately, then probably again when the card is actually issued.  I think there is a 15 day time perios involved.   Probably better to check with Chapala Law, Spencer McMullen (Intercasa on this board) for a definitive answer or actual help.  I think they do it at the Aduana office at the airport.

I recommend people go twice as per my web site: http://www.soniadiaz.mx/vehicles.html

In doing so my clients have not lost their deposits.
