You can get the policy on-line and cancel the same way. Your tags and registration are current, yes?
pappysmarket
And talk to your local agent who has your Mexican policy. Some will endorse for a short trip to the US and for sure your tags need to be current.

RickS
Across the border into the US there will be several agencies that will sell you liability insurance for your US vehicle. Fred Loya is one. google that and maybe even give them a call if you have a US line.
pappysmarket
Yeah, whenever we stay at So. Padre the local TV stations all have commercials for Fred Loya so they must be big in that area.

jrod
we use segurogringo.com, which you can get online and print the policy to take with you. Anecdotally, family had repair work done in Dallas two weeks ago, paid for by an insurance claim, check in-hand and written to us. The repair shop asked what insurance the check was from and said they do not accept Fred Loya checks..they have had.too many problems with this agency lowballing the repair amount then refusing to pay the difference between the repair quote and the check. Luckily, they accepted our check and the insurance and they agreed to an additional amount to put a new fender on two-year-old car rather than get one from a junkyard. Joyfull
When we had our US plated car and drove it NOB on vacation we used Progressive after doing so,e research. Paid for 6 months, cancelled as soon as we got back to Ajijic Andrew they refunded to our Visa. It ended up being really inexpensive with excellently coverage.
