dcstroker
I'd say at least 3/4 of those are never enforced. What a joke! Not having a fire extinguisher? WTH

HarryB
these are existing - the Chpala Security Committee ( I am on it) voted a while back to take over Vialidad. Once implemented the fines go to the municipality. I recall a 10 million grant the first year to do this and 11 million the second year.

Al Berca
Have they decided which one they might make an attempt to enforce?
Mainecoons
OK but what is the fine supposed to be for, for tumbaburros? Having them installed on the vehicle? Being broken? I see a lot of these mounted on sport utes and trucks with Jalisco plates. In the U.S. they are referred to as Rhino guards and they were a source of humor in New Mexico when seen on very high dollar Land Rovers driven always on pavement in pricey places like Santa Fe and Taos. barcelonaman
Burro is a donkey ! Vaca is a cow. Anyway if only a few of the laws are implemented it would take many mexicans and some gringoes off the road.no bad thing. What about bikes and cars without lights or brake lights? Compulsary insurance.? Dont use google translate.
HarryB
The idea is that you would be able to call the police for a transito, show him the list and demand a folio. If he doesn't, report to Commandante. Always see an officers ID.

barcelonaman
So if i suspect that a fellow motorist doesnt have a extinguisher or spare wheel i call the cops? .they maybe in the boot out of sight. If someone doesnt give way to pedestrians i call the cops ? Dont i need evidence ? Hows that going to work?. Sounds crazy to me to have motorists self regulate. More cops at strategic points is the answer .with these laws they would be in profit within days !

Bajabrady
Has anyone ever gotten a ticket associated with one of these violations? If you contest the violation does it go to a judge? Odds are it's your word against the official I assume. Most if not all are subjective, vague and repetitive. Is it pay at the window or jail time like in the states? Does anyone know what happens if you get tagged and don't have the cash? I'm not from the moon and know how things go down. But what if these laws we're regularly enforced for everyone? There wouldn't be a car on the road. The state would be debt free with surplus to build more jails for the less fortunate who got popped for something as silly as #19 having a vehicle in poor mechanical shape and #17 bad tires! SMH... ibarra
If, per chance, you receive a ticket for one of these offenses, do you receive a 50% discount for paying promptly like with speeding tickets?
