New Mina La Antigua, Restaurant in Riberas

Restaurant coffee has always been a staple: a tool to attract customers and a certain something that allows for conversation and gatherings. The whole concept of gourmet coffees and baristas and high prices is foreign to me. If you are going to charge 35p for a cup, for something that costs 2p to make and takes no skill or time, you are going to lose that crowd.

Had a crepe and an omelette today, service was excellent and very friendly. Food Ok, nice large portions, crepe needed some kind of sauce on top, dry and same with the omelette, no salsa's or anything offered no salt or pepper on the tables, had to ask for it. Coffee on the other hand was ridiculous, $35p for a small cup and had another one and didn't realize it is another $35p, so $70p for 1 person to have 2 cups of coffee. Think we will stick with our Sunrise Breakfast.

Was there for the 2nd time today and really enjoyed it. Neither time were we charged for coffee refills. I spoke to the manager, Janet about your complaint. She said there must have been a misunderstanding. Everyone who orders coffee gets as many free refills as they want. Obviously not if you order a cappuccino or other specialty coffee. Also, each person who drinks coffee needs to order their own cup.

We really enjoy their omelets, waffles and crepes.

Good waffles are a rarity.  Had a great one at -Hole in One- on Mother's Day... found out they imported those (locally).  It was quite amazing. Return to do a Sunday brunch breakfast only to end up with what looked like Eggo Waffles delivered to the table, after ordering what was said to be Belgium Waffles. It's a shame they do not bring in the other waffles for their Sunday Brunch Menu.

Turn the page, We enjoyed the waffles at Mina la Antigua.  Ordered:1 Mango (Tenerfe) and 1 Kahlúa nut (Valladolid) waffle, both were good, but preferred the Mango one.

You may order your waffle crispy or soft on the inside.  We will try the crispy next time.

The entire menu is in Spanish.  They do provide a translation sheet. Pasted below  you will find the Crepes Dulces menu and a sampling of (1/3 of the waffles offered):
