JayBearII
I'm posting this here because there does not seem to be any place to specifically post travel inquiries. I am planning a trip to Toronto for personal reasons but will have the time to visit interesting places. Me, I spent most of my life in Boston, MA, and I have been to museums there as well as in New York, Detroit (went to U of M in Ann Arbor), and London, England and nearby. I am interested in botanical gardens, fine art and anthropology museums, but I am up for anything of interest. I just cannot tell from the sites online where I might go that would be of interest. Toronto posters, please advise. BTW, I also love pubs!
Azzurro
Hi JayBearll Perhaps you would enjoy a stroll in Edwards Gardens. A visit to the Ontario Science Center. The Royal Museum would also be interesting. The CN tower in the evening and have a nice dinner there.( A little bit pricey.) The Toronto Island. Ontario Place. These are some of the places you could research on the internet. Toronto has a very good subway system. I think seniors get a discount. Enjoy your visit to Toronto. exyyz
I used to live in downtown Toronto so I would add to the above list Kensington Market which is a lively microcosm of every ethnic group, type of food, clothing and art. Chinatown is worth a look too if you have time.
Go Solar
What timeframe are you planning and for how long? Agree strongly on the Toronto Islands. One of the best "deals" to be found for tourists and residents alike. Take any of the ferries out and stroll along the length if you're a walker. You can start at one end and return from the other end, enjoying the nice scenery of the skyline while in the serenity of the country environment. Another very nice public garden in the west part of the city: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Gardens
