cedros
If you want to get it repaired the electronic repair guy on the carretera in San Juan Cosala repairs them at a very reasonable price. To repair one cost 30 pesos. Another one was a similar price.
ComputerGuy
I imagine Mike Merryman will have a few used ones in stock. Do you know Satellites Systems of Ajijic? 766-3371.
Sea
I got quoted a really high price when I checked around stores here. I found a couple very reasonable on Amazon. They were listed, but available through a third party seller. The same shop also had Shaw converters of different types.
artsnob
Harry, I got a universal remote from shop on plaza in Ajijic down the street from the bank, and it works just fine
ComputerGuy
The only remotes that recognize Shaw box commands are learning remotes, which means in effect you must teach the new remote from a working Shaw remote. If you are on FaceBook, or know someone who is, the Beg, Barter, Buy and Sell, Chapala group often has people selling Shaw components.

captnaselli
The location of the shop known as Teleservico Calvario is in SJ Cosala just at the base of the gigantic cell phone tower #43A. Just look up and you will see this tower. He fixed my remote for 20 pesos in 15 minutes.
