barrisroom@aol.com
When it rains, it pours! Now our propane tank has to be replaced. Any place locally that has the best prices. We have gone to several places- the prices are very different. Thank you all for the help.

We have gone to several places- the prices are very different. Thank you all for the help. When I bought mine, a year ago, I found that Amutio, next to Guadalajara Pharmacy, in Ajijic, had the best price. They delivered for free. I tipped the driver, tho. Osoprehistorico
What kind of tank? Stationary or portable?
puro guero
Use Home Cheapo as your base reference for 'best pricing'. Sizes from 100 to 5000 liter. http://www.homedepot.com.mx/comprar/es/guadalajara-iteso/busqueda?searchTerm=tanque+estacionario# You can then compare/negotiate with Ferreteria Amutio (next to Farmacia Guadalajara in Ajijic) Casa de Plomero (on the carretera at the top of the hill in west Ajijic) and/or Ferreteria Calzada (on the carretera next to Immigration in Chapala, also in Jocotepec)
puro guero
Just curious, how do you know your tank needs to be replaced ? It would be a rare occurence that your tank has failed. Guages, valves and hoses, yes; but the tank itself, no. (Barring damage caused by external forces). Did your propane provider tell you this, maybe as a way of explaining why you are 'using' more gas than before ? "It must be from an unidentified leak in the tank" If so, it's more likely that he has not been filling the tank with all of the propane that you've been paying him for. I have had this problem with multiple propane companies locally. I hope the new Ministerio Publico service at LCS will make it easier to file denuncias aginst the unscrupulous propane sellers. Does the MP handle that sort of thing?Wouldn't PROFECO be the appropriate agency to complain to?
