LaChula Posted February 15, 2011 Report Share Posted February 15, 2011 The planning committee set the Mardi Gras date for Tuesday, March 8th from 2-5pm at LCS which also happens to be International Women's Day! This will be a fundraiser for the Municipal Institute of Women of Ixtlahuacan who came to LCS to ask our assistance in doing a fundraiser for them. The women will be bringing a Mariachi band and will also make lots of desserts to sell. You will read more about them in the newspaper articles forthcoming. We are now looking for some volunteers to help on various committees. Decorations, table placement, live music, food & beverages, blackjack dealers etc. PM me if you can help. We will rent round tables that will hold 10 so get your groups together! Ticket prices are $150 pesos and if you buy 9 tickets at once the 10th ticket is free!! We will have a costume contest for those who want to dress up for the event- remember there is a Mardi Gras parade that day in Ajijic. The LCS Cooks will be cooking up some Jambalaya and other Cajun creations! (Is crawfish available here?) Beer, wine & soda available. We will be turning the Gazebo into the Riverboat Queen for some Blackjack & Texas Hold-um with prizes! Lots of music & entertainment is being sought after. Our next step is to have have posters and tickets printed up. I will let you know when they are available. maw MAW-wouldn't this be good to post on the Chapala-Ajijic board? We will be doing a big July Fiesta on Sat.
