The United States Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) has just released a survey mandated by Congress and approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

The purpose of the survey is to gather opinions on the Absentee Voting experience of overseas US Citizens.

December 07, 2010 (Washington, DC): Are you a U.S. citizen living overseas who is eligible to vote in the federal election process? If so, we need your help! Voting is the right of U.S. citizens everywhere — including those who live outside the country. However, we recognize the challenges faced by citizens abroad who want to exercise this right. With the support of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) would like to know about these challenges so we can take the necessary steps to make voting easier for all U.S. citizens.

Before we can improve the process though, we need to know about your voting experiences. With the recent 2010 Federal election behind us, there isn't a better time to ask about these experiences. FVAP, the DoD organization responsible for overseas and absentee voting assistance for U.S. citizens, has released a survey to help you provide this information. The data collected from this survey is mandated by Congress and will be reviewed to help us identify what is working and what we can improve.

The survey does not require you to provide any personally identifiable information, such as your name, date of birth, or social security number, and all results will be kept confidential and not shared with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and any other government and/or private organization.
