  1. New Years Eve @ La Mision

    For those who may not know, we have made some wonderful improvements to the Chef Table, VIP area. First we have moved the Grand Piano there and have seating around the piano so the patrons can sit eat and drink right at the piano. We have been hosting PIano Bars there and last Saturday night was a BLAST! Yesterday a couple came in and wanted to have their marriage ceremony and reception @ La Mision. After exploring all the options and areas in the restaurant they chose the VIP area. They left very very excited. That got us to thinking with New Years Eve fast approaching for a larger party we could make this area into a special special area with the piano bar, their own dancing area, bar and just one big happy group or family having a memorable and special New Year's Eve. The party going on in the front will not bother them and the party going on in the VIP will not bother the party in the main dining area. You will have your own Bar and waiters and they will be with you the entire evening So if you have a group of friends looking for something really special call us ASAP and reserve your farewell 2017 and welcome 2018 Party.
  2. It is our goal to make this the best New Years Eve Party we have ever done and hopefully the best you have ever attended. We have done post mortems on the last 3 parties and are convinced we will deliver for you a New Year's Eve you will really enjoy as one of your best ever. We have tried to keep our price that same as in the past while offering much more and are happy to announce that we have accomplished that goal. Our price is still $1000 pesos. The restaurant will be beautiful and warm no matter the temperature outside. We will stay open until 1:30 am as is the custom in Mexico and what you used to do when you were younger so you can enjoy if nothing else winding down and watching our wonderful Mexican friends and neighbors welcoming a New Year and will be fun for all including your waiters, who will have a few surprises for you. The music will be live from 8:00 pm to 1:30 am. We have made arrangements for them to stay @ at our home so they don't have to drive to Guad at that late hour. As the party winds down Chef Julian will be offering a very tasty offering for all. We want you to come, relax, take your time and enjoy every minute of your New Year's Eve. You will not be rushed in any way. Whenever you arrive you will be in charge of your evening, if you want a cocktail and an appetizer you will get it, when your ready for your soup or salad is up to you, spacing out your evening as you see fit so you can eat, dance and enjoy your friends and this wonderful ending of 2017 and the beginning of 2018. We always get the very best Party Favors Guad has to offer and this year since we have gained experience by having Lobster as a regular on our menu, one of your entrée choices will be a one pound Lobster Tail. We will also be offering from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm 2 for 1 cocktails on Brandy, Rum Vodka and Margaritas, plus another couple of surprises. We would appreciate when making your reservation that you give us your choice of entrée, and if you want to drop by and choose your table.     Sorry took a break and just got back on now. Same price as last year $1000 pesos with a more expensive menu and the Lobster Tail is 1 lb. Looking forward to another full house to welcome in the New Year and want to wish us all our BEST YEAR EVER, One filled with Health, Love, Joy, Happiness and Prosperity in Abundance. PS.     Our Xmas Eve Dinner Menu: 1st. Course: Soup: Shrimp Bisque. Main Course: Choice of either Stuffed Imported Black Angus Filet Mignon with Brie Cheese, wrapped in Bacon and served with sliced potatoes and veggies covered in Mustard Cognac Sauce, or Boneless Filet of Red Snapper with Jasmin Rice and Green Vegetables. Desert: Christmas Fruit Cake. $320 Pesos per person.

    Get the latest issue of Ojo del Lago and you will see the New Years Eve line up including the menu. Starts @ 7:00 or 7:30 pm don't remember exactly, as I am at home now, and at my age memory is the second thing to go, and goes right thru until 1:30 am. Music for your dancing and dining pleasure starts @ 8:00 pm and continues until 1:30 am. Would love to have you join us and hope to see you soon.
  7. Chef Julian is offering 1 lb. Lobster Tail including 2 sides for $550 pesos. He has now found a purveyor that is supplying us with Imported Black Angus Filet Mignon and the way he prepares it will have you returning again and again. This is a very nice addition to our menu along with our USDA Choice Prime Rib dinner. We initially were going to offer the Lobster Tail only on Friday and Saturday but clients have been asking for it every day and he has been accommodating all. As always we appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you soon, and we think you will like the seasonal ambiance of the restaurant.   9. Friday and Saturdays @ La Mision we are serving 3/4 lb. Lobster Tail with Asparagus, Baked Potato, Salad and Clarified Butter plus our new homemade Buns....all for only $450 pesos less then $25.00. That is a real deal Hope to see you soon and the restaurant is now decorated for the holiday season to make your visit even more enjoyable. As well there will be a live fire to keep you warm and live holiday music to put you in the spirit.

The restaurant is both beautiful and warm, with the mesquite grill a blazing with fire and charm.   11. Lobster Tail @ La Mision

    Wow! Chef Julian not only put big smiles on those who had Lobster last evening, he put a giant one on mine. Couldn't get over the plate with the lobster tail and one of the sides being asparagus. The Lobster Tail is the real deal and I sincerely believe all will be very happy with the size. Hope to see all you "lobster lovers" @ La Mision soon.
  12. Chef Julian has given me the green light on The Cuban Lobster Tail. Starting this Friday we will be serving Lobster Tail both Friday and Saturdays. This is 360 grams a little over 3/4 of a lb. The price is $450 pesos including sides and clarified butter. We also want to wish you and yours a very Happy and Wonderful Thanksgiving and we feel so blessed to be living here in Mexico which gives us an even greater reason to be thankful.     There are 453.592 grams to the lb. Which means our lobster tail will be a little over 3/4 of a lb.

    It is a Flash frozen Cuban lobster from the Carribean. The weight is 360 grams. I have eaten quite a few Jamaican lobster in my day and enjoyed them very much. Having served in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police I had the opportunity to enjoy many a New Brunswick Lobster, which is just like Maine Lobster. Again all things considered we believe Chef Julian has made the right decision and as always... you will be the judge.
