  1. Sorry I was unable to answer your post until now as I left yesterday morning @7:00 AM for a full day of medical tests in Guad and when I got back the internet was not functioning. Our Friday Candlelight 2 for 1 is a Special Menu which has a variety of entrees, such as Pork Chop, Shrimp, Currie to name just a few that I remember off the top of my head. Our regular menu is always available. Reservations are appreciated but you can drop in as well. Thank you and hope to see you soon.
  2. New Hours @ La Mision

Sorry should have also mentioned in addition to the Breakfast Buffet on Sunday there is a regular Brunch menu as well. Looking forward to your next visit.

  4. IS LA MISION ON RIO BRAVO OPEN ON FRIDAYS?

Yes we are open Friday's from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with our buffet and salad bar served from 1:00 to 4:00 and our new Friday two for one dinners from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Only day we are closed is Monday. Hope to see you soon.
  5. Update on sobriety checkpoints.

This was not just the result of a restaurant conversation but a conversation with the Executive Assistant of the Presidente who had not been drinking but was working with my wife. in the office. She had much information in her I Phone and even shared some of that with us all.
  6. Last evening as I was enjoying the company of Jack West, Shirley West, and Averil Miller having their dinner @ La Mision Jack brought up the topic of the checkpoints last weekend and all the rumors floating around town. Earlier our good friend Gloria Perales came into the restaurant. Gloria is the executive asst. to the Presidente of Chapala. I then told them that Gloria was in the restaurant and I would find out from her what is the truth. To make this as short as possible I spoke with her about all that had happened and she told me, and then even came to Jack's table and repeated what was told to me. Bottom line the Presidente is not a happy camper as he was supposed to be given a date as to when this was going to take place, by the Federales , which he was not, thus not giving Chapala time to prepare and get the news out to the public . However the big news and the good news is that this is a once a year event that takes place all over the country and there will be no more roadblocks this weekend and in the future until it happens again next year. I don't mean to imply that the Validad will stop looking for impaired drivers especially on weekends but the Federales doing these organized check stops will not be happening every weekend as people have been led to believe . As a former police officer I have witnessed the death and carnage that can be caused by impaired drivers and ask us all to be responsible, but here in Mexico I am more concerned with the young who drive cars that should not even be on the road and have been drinking or doping for hours and then get behind the wheel, then I am of a senior citizen Gringo who may have had a few glasses of wine with his or her dinner and then is driving home and is in bed by 10:00 PM. Lets all be responsible Please.
  7. 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM or until the last candle is out. Hope to see you soon!

  11. New Hours @ La Mision

Right Thanks Mike and I have made the change. That's the "Ajijic Spirit" we look out for each other.
  12. In offering our "all you can eat" weekday Early Bird Buffet and the counsel we received from Gringal we have changed our hours @La Mision. We are closed Mondays, OPEN Tuesday thru Friday 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturday 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and Sunday 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. We thank one and all for their counsel and want to assure you that when you speak we listen.
  13. We posted our new " ALL YOU CAN EAT" Weekday Buffet starting tomorrow Tuesday the 18th of July from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Tuesday to Friday. You can read the posts below this one which will give you the reason we are posting the change. I was able to get together with the other people necessary to make the change as we host CASA the 3rd Monday of every month. We are closed every Monday, so I rushed to the restaurant and got agreement for the change in our hours to accommodate the 1:00 PM opening. We will open tomorrow the 18th as advertised ie @ 2:00 PM but starting Wednesday the 19th and every weekday thereafter we will open @ 1:00 PM. These are now the new hours each week for La Mision Monday thru Friday 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Sunday 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM The Weekday Buffet will be served 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Tuesday thru Friday as well as the regular menu all day. Sunday the "All You Can Eat" Breakfast Buffet for only $110 pesos is available from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The success of the breakfast buffet is the reason we are doing the weekday buffet...same kitchen staff for both.
  14. Weekday Buffet @ La Mision

Thank you Gringal. I just spoke to Esperanza about your suggestion and she says your right but as we are open until 10:00 PM those days is the reason we are not open until 2:00 PM....so she is going to speak with all the staff and see if we can make the change, I for one hope we can and again thank you for your help.
