  1. Hope you have the appropriate residency status with the ability to earn an income, pay taxes, etc.
  2. Only official US Notary is through the US consulate; I think they are scheduled here next week but you may need to call the consulate and ask. There is a thread under Customs & Immigration that has information - "US Consulate fees January 2020"
  3. as of today (Jan 3) HSA MRI won't be operational for about three weeks.
  4. OR driving on the frickin wrong side to avoid the topes. They should put up concrete meridians on that whole stretch and leave holes for the Ceilo Vista & Vista Alegre entrances
  5. Go to the Lake Chapala Society https://lakechapalasociety.com/public/ or to one of the coffee shops at the Ajijic Plaza - make some friends. There is a weekly hiking group (Ajijic Hiking Group on FB) and a birding group You could also check out Ajijic News, they have a calendar of events http://www.ajijicnews.com/ So what type of job do you have that brings you to our area for "several days to a week"?
  6. contact Diana Suarez - Kukis Caseras; group of ladies that make cookies & gift baskets; Preguntas por inbox o Whatsapp +52 33 3167 4325.
  7. really, where? I've looked for sourdough bread and can't find it.
  8. DAB you do realize that Carol posted three + years ago. IF she is still on this board you may be more successful in sending her a message - top of the page the little envelope.
  9. Cdn Gov't doesn't deposit cheques, they do a direct deposit into your account. If you had a cheque mailed to you here from Canada it could take a minimum of six weeks to receive it (if you are lucky to ever get it). Much easier to have gov't direct deposit to a cdn bank then use your debit card to draw funds down here.
  10. I'm sure I've seen them in Soriana; I think in the fridge near the cafeteria;
  11. The papeleria in SAT (used to be called Trinidad), next to Maquina 245, across from Cafe Negro. They will fax as I was asking just last week. No 800 numbers though, just regular phone number.
  12. Take it all (originals and a copy) you never know what is required on any given day.
  13. Chapalence is exactly right; also in Mexico notarios do real estate closings. Not all attorneys are notarios but all notarios are attorneys. I would highly doubt finding a toll free number since it costs us, in MX, to call a toll free number.
  14. The accident at Walmart WAS NOT due to loss of brakes; he did not drive over the barriers - he was driving very, very slowly - he miscalculated his load length vs the 'S' turn to get into walmart parking lot; The trailer jacks got caught on the sidewalk. Good thing he stopped before he ripped them right off and then it would have been a real mess. Geez, look at the scene - no damage to the tractor; those fiberglass bodies on tractor units would have disintegrated if he had hit the concrete barriers. And it was only blocking the one entrance (there are 2 others) into Walmart that most people don't use anyway unless using that 'lateral' as an excuse not to stop at the lights. FYI there must have been some other accident/altercation in front of the tech schools on the libramiento as traffic was backed up a long, long way about 1:30pm.
  15. I believe you may be referring to Sweets & Treats run by Ruth Baker. Americas Pasteleria on Morelos in Chapala makes cakes to order.

    parasites

    You would need to go to a lab and get a sample container; labs don't like samples brought in in baggies. Likely won't get the results until the next day. With the lab results you can ask your doctor for his opinion. Parasite medicine is pretty potent so you best have a definitive diagnosis rather then self medicate. If you are really bad then go to either of the hospitals.
  17. Black red vines at Mi Ranchito Cremeria;
  18. 19. Since you have something for sale, put it in the classified section. PS Pulling up a FOUR YEAR OLD post that has NOTHING to do with you selling a solar hot water system is a bit silly.
  20. Have you looked at a map to see the distance between Arizona & Lake Chapala? +/- 1200 MILES Would have made more sense to ask someone who lives in the area you are planning to be in. Doing an internet search of shaw direct satellite footprint would give you information. https://www.global-cm.net/SD sat coverage.html
  21. Do a search "pet sitter" , there are suggestions; Also check at your vet's office sometimes they have contacts.
