Cost 350p for members and 450p for non-members Meet at the sculpture in La Floresta, bus departs promtly at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, 5 October , Centro/Downtown Self Guided Walking Tour Visit and admire the historical 17th,18th and 19th century architecture and their stunning murals and artwork, the Instituto Cultural Cabanas is a must. Sit and people watch in the beautiful Plazas, have luncheon in the Plaza de los Laureles or elegant dining in the Hotel Mendoza or other fine eateries in the area. A detailed map will be provided. Cost 350pesos for members, 450pesos for non-members Bus will leave promptly at 10am from the sculpture in La Floresta.
  4. OKTOBERFEST Saturday, September 23 from 2-6 pm on the grounds of the Lake Chapala Society Come celebrate Octoberfest at the Lake Chapala Society. Don your Dirndl and Lederhosen and win a prize for the best costume.   7. LAKE CHAPALA SOCIETY WARREN HARDY SPANISH CLASSES Lake Chapala Society (LCS), Ajijic, announces the start of their next term of Spanish language classes for LCS members. Classes will begin on Monday, August 28 and continue through October 14. Classes meet two days a week for an hour and a half each session at the Wilkes Education Center (Biblioteca) in Ajijic. The LCS Spanish program uses the Warren Hardy Spanish language course which is designed for the adult student. Several levels of instruction are available as students progress in the program. Registration for the upcoming classes is underway at the LCS office or on line. The Program Manager's assistant will be available to answer questions and take registrations every day during the week of August 21 to August 25 from 10:30 to 2:00 at LCS on the blue umbrella patio. The tuition for the course is $750 pesos. The course textbook is an additional $670 pesos, and other instructional materials may also be separately purchased.   11. Lake Chapala Society (LCS), Ajijic, announces its next round of Introduction to Spanish language classes for LCS members. This is a casual class offered for the beginner that covers the Spanish alphabet, simple vocabulary and phrases to use about town for shopping, and other useful information about our area and Mexican culture. Classes are held each month starting the first Tuesday of the month and continue for three weeks. August classes start on Tuesday, August 1 and will be held at the LCS campus from 12:00 until 1:30 PM. Learning materials are provided, and the tuition for the classes is $175 .
