  1. My wife and I both have had Kindles for years... not Paperwhite 'tho.  Neither of us have any kind of ad blocker and neither of us would pay extra for one. It's not like they are 'popping up' all over the place. Mine has ads as a screen saver (when it is powered off and just sitting there) and I occasionally see a book offer listed... not intrusive... on my home page. Until you asked about them none of these things had come to my attention and thus are not affecting my use of the Kindle.   Just my 2 centavos worth.

Flat earth used to be the established science.

Well, actually not. The myth of the flat earth is a historical misconsecption that European scholars and educated people during the Middle Ages believed the Earth to be flat. 5th Century BC Greek scholars... the scientists of the time... were calculating the circumference of the earth. Belief in a flat earth among educated Europeans was almost nonexistent in the Middle Ages.

The 'flat earth' notion became prevalent much later.... in the late 1800s... by Protestants to argue against Catholic teachings. "No educated person in the history of the Western Civilization from the 3rd Century BC believed that the Earth was flat."

  3. I still don't know the value of posting this on a daily basis but... since 1/2 the folks reading this Board are Canadian maybe adding the loonie rate too would be appropriate.

Maybe Ibara, the OP, would change the Title to include the Canuck's currency.  Maybe.

  4. If there is no left turn arrow glowing, how would one know that there 'might' be one that 'might' glow sometime... if it were not burned out?

'Normally', a green arrow designates a Protected left turn. If there is no green arrow glowing but there is a solid green, one can proceed to go straight OR turn left 'unprotected'. But surely not against the law to turn left in either case.

I'm with MC.... protest that ticket.

I have that same problem on several forums especially Lakeside.  Up north where my internet speed is much, much faster than here, the wait time often, but not always, seems to be less noticeable.

I have NEVER got a Search message like this on ANY website that I visit.... except chapala.com/webboard

It's probably an attempt to thwart a Bot from hitting the site 'electronically' over and over again at warp speed.  I am NOT capable of warp speed requests! Many seconds elapse between my followup requests. Nothing that a good site would object to.  It's just a poor implementation of a safeguard (if in fact my theory of the problem is correct).

  6. I (think I) understand why this site's software does this, but it is a poor implementation.

Subject:  "Please wait XX seconds before attempting another search"

This commandment is SO lame.  Please ask Admin to change this to something REASONABLE. The Search function is bad enough here without adding insult to injury.

    Please.

I too have just been going " straight across" but those pavement 'bumps' are still there. And I surely look for lateral traffic and pedestrians and....

I see NO indications that this is legal, but...

    Translation....

At 2:00 p.m. this Wednesday, March 27, the Compostela to El Capomo section of the new Guadalajara-Puerto Vallarta highway was opened , which will leave behind the curves of federal highway 200.

This section will be inaugurated with a minimum protocol act by the authorities due to the electoral ban. The flag was only taken from kilometer 53.

    "45 bridges, 7 interchanges, 3 tunnels and 3 viaducts..."
