  1. Well, we'll just have to agree to disagree. When one has 4 6V batteries in series that amounts to/is exactly like having one 24-Volt battery. You are suggesting that, if one of those 4 batteries (i.e. 3 cells of the 24V battery) is 'bad', that is a no harm no foul situation... everything will be hunky-dory. I disagree. One 24V battery with 3 bad cells just ain't gonna work very well....or at all IMO. Your offer of 2 'old' T125s was nice. BUT 'how old is old'? Were they kept charged while just sitting there... topped off at east every 6 months? And your comment about having them 'de-sulfated' is a good one IF it's not too late. All lead-acid batteries develop sulfate, even if just sitting there. If they are overcharged, undercharged or left discharging for just a few days they will rapidly develop sulfate. Even when stored fully charged, sulfate will form unless/without a frequently applied 'maintenance charge'. It MUST be charged enough to prevent the battery from dropping below 6.2V.... 2.0V/cell. Storing batteries in temps above 75 °F accelerates the rate of sulfation, increasing it dramatically.
  2. Just be aware that 'mixing' batteries of different makes AND age is not advised. Put an older battery in with a new(er) one and the newer one(s) will 'default' to the power of the old one. Now if your cart only uses 2 batteries and the gift from Chillin turns out OK you don't have an issue, but...
  3. Well if this is a conversation about only climate and not other criteria then yes of course Canadians will 'suffer' more than their southern neighbors... like me. However if one discounts that, the culture in Canada *may* be better than the USA. That of course is not a given and can easily be challenged. It depends on the person. And yes, there are plenty of places in the US where one can live 'cheaply'... almost anywhere in the south.... and the weather in winter is not that bad and surely better from a temperature standpoint than Canada. But living 'cheaply' does not always equate to living 'nicely'... for the lack of a better word. I grew up in the South but believe me the 'culture' of the South is not to my liking, cheap or no. Central to southern Florida is extremely comfortable in the winter as is Arizona with lots to do out-of-doors but living there in the summer is akin to living in the preverbal hell IMO. Same is true of south Texas. Not to say that I know of and have tried out all the possibilities available for nice year around living, but Mexico in general and Lakeside in particular pretty much hits on all cylinders for me. Maybe one day I'll actually live there full time as I once thought I would surely be doing by now.
  4. I have no personal knowledge but every time I see a "Wendy" mattress mentioned on these Boards it is with glowing remarks....
  5. I'd sell that casa and move down the street where it is 15 degrees warmer!
  6. Me, I'm going with the Rudi Guliani answer.....
  7. ...cultural differences are often seen as something else.
  8. I would strongly recommend a 'burr' type grinder as opposed to a 'blade' type. Go Solar has pointed to one.
  9. Maybe so, maybe not. But suggesting that as a fact now is more than misleading. Being 'of an age' and waiting patiently for my vaccine shot I pay close attention to these kind of reports. So far I have heard of 'allergic' and 'severely allergic' reactions... one even from a doc that had known allergies to shell fish... but I've certainly heard of NO deaths.
  10. Only if one gets scared with a solution to a pandemic as opposed to having to living in one. Personally I'm for the former, not the latter. BTW, you quoted a 98-99% SURVIVAL rate. Do you have some data that suggests that there is a 1-2% death rate with these new vaccines? Or did I misread your intent?
  11. Nowhere in your original Post did you say/suggest that the 'youngest boy' lived in your community as opposed to 'belonging' to the women riding. In the latter case.... belonging... I see no reason why these people would be required to wear masks. Learning that they did not 'belong' to the women does change the picture. But what I don't yet know/understand is 'why Post the message' here? What can anyone on this Board do. Are you just looking for a forum to give us your opinion about people like them? If so, then OK we now know. But.....
  12. I don't have a dog in this race, but I don't see any comments that were false and insulting. I did see a Post that got 5 'Likes' although.
  13. RV I am hearing that one should wait a minimum of 7 days after the second shot. And yes, masks and distancing is still a very good idea even then.
  14. Couple of thoughts.... First, it is apparent that you are more technically capable than 99.9% of us on the Board, so don't expect much help with your problem. In your write-up I did not see that you are/have tried using an ethernet connection to your Telmex modem... you talk about wifi and antenna and 2-antenna modems. If this is true, have you been able to see what the speed is using an ethernet connection and not relying on wifi from that modem? Without knowing what that speed is, it is hard to tell if your problem is wifi or modem or wiring or? Test it with an ethernet connection if possible... even if you have to borrow a friends computer to do so. If you must use wifi, then you may have a 'bad' Telmex modem.... not a first by any means. If Telmex won't switch it out for you, you can purchase the same online from the Guadalajara website... I forget the name right now.... as others have done to 'solve' their bad Telmex modem problems. Also you can put a good wifi router behind your Telmex modem, connected via ethernet cable, and maybe its wifi will be superior to the Telmex modem.... it won't be the first time. They are available at Sterens shop in the Plaza Centro Laguna across from Walmart. Secondly, the speed you are saying you have.... 7 down, 0.5 up.... is a common speed for the 'lowest plan available' from Telmex even if it is called 20mbps. As is the case, that is 'up to' 20mbps down and up is always a crapshoot. You say you tried to upgrade to the 40mbps plan but that didn't work with your connection but I didn't see that you have pursued that "in person"... yes I know the office is "closed", but there are other ways than doing it online. Is Wizz even available 'on your street'? While it is not a guarantee and you have heard bad things, it may be better than what you have. Some folks get 'great' service from them. Ask around. Your work-around for the Telcel (or AT&T for that matter) "En Su Casa" may be your only option in the long run. Since you are only at Lakeside as a snowbird, their actual program which requires buying an in-house modem and maybe a 2 year contract is not as flexible. Good luck with your problem....
  15. Yes... mosquitoes are as good as it gets there! Why would ANYONE want to try out such a despicable place.
  16. 39, quit your blabbing! Chacala is growing too much as it is!
  17. Actually the "conjunction" happens every 20 years but this 0.1 degree separation is/was what is special.
  18. Well, I have done nothing to 'close' the PM function to me. Must be a glitch. BTW, when I try to use your box it says it is full. Is it? RickS
  19. I *think* the program that was allowing FMM and TIP to be 'renewed' inside Mexico is no longer in affect. BUT, Sonia would know and she has a consulting presence in PV. I'd give her a shout at soniaangel32 at hotmail dot com
  20. Yes of course... but your 10' comment is.... over the top. 😁
