A friend said that a few years ago that your car needed to be empty in the nationalization process - and also found a thread from 3 years ago that said - The vehicle will have to be weighed (empty) in order to finalize the import. The agency that did ours had a fenced guarded area to leave the stuff.

So does anyone know if this is current practice?  As my car will have a lot of stuff in it......(unless I have to dump it in a Laredo hotel room) - and will also have 2 dogs - which I assume can stay with me - hopefully that too is a good assumption........

For those that have crossed this year by car, with dogs, has anyone had to show their health certificate?
