When we built our house in Riberas we brought in nearly 100 loads of fill dirt. Our workers used something called a "bailarina" (English "dancer") to compact the dirt. This machine goes up and down, kind of like a jack hammer but it has a round disk to compact with. They can be rented where they rent andamios like the place in Riberas on the highway, lakeside. Of course, you won't use it yourself! Looked pretty intimidating to me.

We are happily relocated NOB after toodling around Mexico for the better part of two decades, first in a motorhome and then settled in the Lakeside area. I can understand those who are still enchanted by Mexico because my husband and I were for a long time. It was time, for a variety of reasons, for us to move on and seek new adventures. There is a lot I miss and a lot I don't, but that is to be expected.

There is an excellent oncologist, with perfect English, Dr. Arch, in the medical tower at Hospital Angeles del Carmen:
Dr. Jorge Emilio Arch Ferrrer ======= jorge_arch@unidaddecancerologia.com
Torre de Especialidades Angeles
Tarascos 3473, Rinconada Santa Rita
Dr. Arch is a surgeon who does do surgery on many types of cancer but he is not an oncologist. He can recommend an oncologist to you. My husband used Dr. J. Francisco Alexander, who is considered among the best oncs in Guad, but I now have my doubts about his expertise. I have heard Hospital San Javier has a very good oncology department and treatment center.

We just moved back NOB and went through Laredo, Bridge II. We were pulling a large trailer packed to the gills. We had to drive the trailer through the x-ray machine and then were sent on our way. Nobody stopped us once SOB for any reason.
