Can anybody provide information (first-hand or otherwise) regarding the security situation in Patzcuaro area? Thinking of driving there with guests this coming week. We've been there several times, but not in the past two years. Thanks in advance.

Just got my husband and his dog moved to Ajijic from Patzcuaro (where we lived for 5 years).
It has been muy tranquil in Patzcuaro for many months. It is totally lovely there now. Unfortunately tourism has been down markedly so quite a few businesses/restaurants have closed......but presently, security is not an issue.
