THEATER AND SUCH

Cole! What a Christmas present LLT provided for theater-goers. Upbeat, happy, familiar music, and glamorous costumes. Hats off to the cast, crew, Doug Livingston and Barbara Clippinger Keener for great entertainment. Hilite: 'Love For Sale.'
Next comes "The Gin Game" starring the McCarters, Jeritza and Robert and directed by Andrew Krumbhaar. It had a long run on Broadway starring Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy, another married couple, and no doubt our accomplished duo will do equally as well. "Gin Game" is like a slice of life liberally sprinkled with a little spice, a dash of vinegar, two lumps of sugar and a shot of picante salsa. Curtain opens January 7 and closes January 15. Box office opens for tickets January 4-5 10:30 to 1:00.
Rehearsals are in progress for Gingerbread Lady, opening in February.
Don't miss the workshop at LLT at 10:30 on Props and Wardrobe, conducted by Robbie.

      Krumbhaar and Freddie Brown.
Congratulations to the Lonny and Cindy team for their moving documentary on the history and possible fate of Lake Chapala. It was nice to have these two locals win "TheTribute to the Lake" award. Unless you are in the business, only the audience sees the finished product. Creativity, geared to please a fickle public requires long hours, dedication, high points, low points, faith in yourself and certainly the ability to recover from a bruised ego.
Over the years, the Musical Appreciation Society has steadily improved under the direction of Charlton Bullock and the board, the programs continue to get better and better. To set the tone for the New Year the much-looked-forward-to Toluca Chamber Orchestra will perform this month. This group comes with the highest credentials and should not be missed even if you have to run over your mother to get to the auditorio.
Last year, the lone female of the popular Vancouver Woodwind Trio was fighting morning sickness during her stay here with her parents. No one would have guessed she was miserable while performing. But everything has its rewards and Susan presented the Bullocks with a bouncing baby grandson. Canadian, of course.
