LCS Combined Mexican/US/Canada Event

     Saturday, July 2, the Lake Chapala Society held an intercultural picnic to honor the individual special days of celebration in the US, Canada and Mexico. It was a fun day that began with the raising of the Mexican, Canadian and American flags, and the singing of the three national anthems. Everyone ate, drank, and made merry, in between watching the entertainment, dancing on the gazebo, and enjoying the display works done by local and other Mexican artists, and painting done by kids enrolled in the Children’s Heritage Art Program. It was an event designed to bring the three cultures closer, and it did, indeed, hit its mark.
