Master Course Band Concert For the seventh consecutive year, the Cultural Department of the municipal government of Chapala is presenting a closing band concert played by the full ensemble, and some quartets and trios. Selections will include band classics and jazz. The concert will be held Friday, August 5, 1:00 p.m., at the La Floresta Auditorium. Marino Calva (first Clarinet of the UNAM Symphonic Orchestra), Clemente Sanabria (National Marine Corps Band), Juan Manuel Arpero (Director & trumpet player of the Puebla State Symphonic Orchestra) Composer & Director Hector Quintanar, Sax Master Juan Alzate (Prof. at the Morelia City Conservatory), will be assessing seventy professional musicians who are coming from several states of Mexico. You won’t want to miss this. Judy Ball entertained sixty-plus friends at her newly completed home in the Haciendas that offers a fantastic view of the lake and mountains. Situated high in the rolling terrain, when the white clouds began rolling in, one felt as if it were almost possible to reach up and touch them.
