LCS To Raise Dues

     The Lake Chapala Society will be raising its dues in 2006 to 400 pesos for a single membership and 600 pesos for a family membership. In speaking with the Ojo, President Charley Smith explained that the raise is necessary to cover the increased 30% rise in utilities cost, wages for salaried employees, constant repairs to the buildings and increased services necessary to accommodate the rising number of new members. A new wrinkle is the “Old Timer’s Club,” which offers members going back to 1994, membership at the old rate of 350/450 pesos for single and family membership.
