Ladies Auxiliary Of American Legion Post 7

      There were private parties on March 17, but one of the most popular public celebrations at Lakeside, was held at the American Legion Post 7 in Chapala, by the Ladies Auxiliary. A full house enjoyed Irish stew served in bread bowls, followed by dessert of bread pudding, all homemade in the kitchens of the members who are known for preparing mouth-watering vittles. Al Dobson provided the music for listening and dancing. February 21 the Legion hosted a President’s Day celebration with a meal of “Legion Grill,” hamburgers and all the trimming and salads, topped off by dessert of cherry pie. Jerry Mayfield entertained, Kathy Sterndahl won a Jerry Mayfield CD, Ed Ottsman won a cherry pie, and Linda Cline won two tickets to the Ballet Folkloric. A good time was had by all. The Auxiliary puts on lots of fun parties, but all have a serious side in that a portion of the proceeds derived from all their events goes toward the many civic and charitable organizations they support on a monthly basis.
