Artist Gains Fame Painting On Glass: Though from early childhood,
Rodolfo Carrillo Bache showed outstanding talent as an artist, he was,
nevertheless, schooled in Guadalajara as an Economist. Later, he and
three friends established a successful Computer Science School in Guadalajara
in which Rodolfo still participates. Then, five years ago, his friend
Sergio Cuevas invited him to work in ceramics, and Rodolfo found he
enjoyed the work so much he became an Economist by day and an artist
by night. When another friend gave him some glass and suggested he might
be interested in learning the art of Bitro Fusion—painting on
glass—Rodolfo became intrigued with the art, and began teaching
himself. Rodolfo’s life was changed forever with the discovery
that this was the type of art he had always wanted to create, and he
became an Economist by day and a painter of glass at night. Now, just
four years later, and still completely self-taught, Rodolfo has become
famed in Mexico, the US and Canada for creating only the finest in commercial
Bitro Fusion decorative works that sell in the 10,000 dollar - 19,000
dollar range. Born in Guadalajara, living now in Chapala with his wife,
Lupita and three children, this 35-year-old has shown successfully in
prestigious art galleries that includes Galeria EM and Art V galleries
in Puerto Vallarta; at the Tiffin Neely Gallery in White Rock, BC Canada;
at the Museo de artes Populares de Jalisco and the Instituto de Artesania
Jalisciense in Guadalajara; at the eDomicilo-Hadley& Harriet in
Dallas, Texas; and in Ajijic. Even the titles of his works express Rodolfo’s
dramatically artistic soul, including “Taboo,” “Vida
en Vidrio” (Life in Glass), “Cuando Sonrie Mi Alma,”
(When My Soul Smiles), and “Sueños en Color II.”
(Dreams in Color) Rodolfo’s gallery is located at Art V Galleria,
San Luis No. 18A, Riberas Del Pilar, or reach him at 765-5086.
