Baking For Charity

     If you’re a dessert lover and you missed the Annual Auction & Dessert Fair at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Outreach Program on February 19, you’re probably still in mourning. Chairwoman Betty Prentki did a stellar job organizing this event that donated over 240,000 pesos to the 15 charities, located in Ajijic, Chapala, Riberas, Jocotepec, Jaltepec and San Pablo. Bobbie Chandler supervised the judging. Among the winners in the professional category were La Bodega Restaurant, Pedro’s Gourmet Restaurant, Villa del Arte and Armando’s La Cabaña Restaurant. Winners from the Culinary Arts Society of Ajijic (CASA) were Evelyn Cronin, Tish Holloway and Donna Carnall. The Terrific Cook Category winners were Libby Colterjohn, Hazel Tash and Judy Stard. The People’s Choice Award went to Villa del Arte. The community and the Mexicans this event helped, thanks the many restaurants and individuals who participated.
