     * On November 26 in Efren Gonzalez’s gallery, next to the Ajijic movie theater, there will be a special art opening featuring the brilliant work of Cathy Chalvignac. She calls this collection “Visual Seduction.” Be there at 3pm. Roberto Cerda will play for this occasion, presenting his new CD.

    * The “Maestros del Arte” collection show will be presented November 12-14 at La Joya del Lago in Ajijic. (See article in this issue, page 19). Coming from five states are 28 artisans, and of these, seven appear in the book Great Masters of Mexican Folk Art. Their art includes weaving, tin work, embroidery, pottery, ceramics, cutlery, painted animals, copper, masks, rug weaving and much more. Here is a preview of a few:
    José Ojeda has been making “World Famous” knives for 13 generations. He has gained international recognition and sells from his shop in Sayula to support his family.
    Martin Ibarra offers over 30 different unique and incredibly intricate virgins as well as lamp bases, flower vases, pots, plates, and, of course, his well known spheres.
    Centro de Integración Tapalpa has built a unique school dedicated to nurturing the artistic, creative and academic potential of special-needs children. This school has helped transform the lives of 300 students. Using recycled garbage, the children express their dreams and beliefs in papel maché, (papier maché).
    Emilio Molinero Hurtado creates burnished pottery that has garnered him acclaim in the world of ceramics. He is 84 years old and began working with clay alongside his father when he was six.
