Walking the Walk

     * Want to have some real fun exercising? Try the Hash House Harriers’ 8th Annual Walkathon and breakfast on October 11! Tickets on sale now at the LCS from 10-12 noon. The Toys for Tots Christmas Program benefits from proceeds.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. There are three categories of walkers: Fast, Half-Fast, and the Philosophers. Prizes will be awarded in each category, and a special prize will be awarded for the slowest of the bunch! If you prefer, you may come and enjoy the breakfast and post-walk festivities, including an awards ceremony and some traditional story-telling.
     HHH meets every Saturday at the New Posada at 8:30 a.m., but the Walkathon locale is Rancho Irada, home of Ralf and Irene Kleine. Going west out of Ajijic, just before the “Japanese Nursery,” turn left at the large yellow and red Alsesseca sign. Call Dagmar or Denny Strole at 766-0485 for more information.

     * Also on the calendar for the Toys for Tots Christmas Program is a Chili Dinner-Dance fundraiser on October 23 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Old Posada. Special chili with trimmings, raffles and live music by Kokopelli for listening and dancing are the attractions. Knowing you helped a kid get a nice present is your reward!
