     * A friend sends this along, just a sample of what I hear from newcomers to our area all the time:
“Though I’ve been visiting Lakeside off and on for decades, it took me until last month to gather up my guts and all my worldly possessions and move down here. Last week the movers brought me my seventeen boxes, containing only objects I could not bear to part with … stuff that nobody else might see as valuable but that I would have grabbed if the house were on fire. I looked at those boxes sitting on the new tile in my nice new rented living room and could not help but think, “There lies a lifetime. And it doesn’t even come close to filling up one small room!”
It’s okay by me. I’m at peace in my mind, and from experience I know my heart will follow suit. What makes this challenging decision worthwhile? It’s the people. I can almost see many heads nodding in acceptance of this thought. It is the people. A new chance of freedom, a new adventure to manifest, an opportunity to see persons in their lights. And some shine so brightly.
What splendid adventurers we all are here, Mexicans and Expatriots both! A toast to beauty, friendship, and peace as we determine to share those enviable treasures together. Salud!”
