Lake Watch

     * Mary McDermott, the new Amigos del Lago board’s treasurer, reports that they worked hard to prepare for a meeting with the Global Nature Fund – Living Lakes organizations during March. Marion Hammerl, President of GNF and Dr.Hendrik Hoeck of GNF came here to help the Amigos and the Fundacion Cuenca Lerma Lago Chapala-Santiago finalize a viable plan for the restoration of Lake Chapala.  They had a very full week touring the lakeside, meeting with the new and old board members of Amigos del Lago and representatives of the Fundacion, concerned scientists, and  members of government in order to work out goals and objectives with steps concrete action.  So, some good stuff is happening!
