Happening

      * Oom-pah music, beer and German cuisine… what else other than the first annual Octoberfest from the Rotary Club of Ajijic? The newly incorporated group’s motto is “Service Above Self,” and the proceeds go to support their scholarship program.
Hosted at Los Telares restaurant on Morelos #6, on October 16 from 5-7 p.m., the event lures you with German specialties from Johanna’s. For information or reservations, contact Wayne or Linda Conklin at 766-4869, or e-mail them at waconklin3@hotmail.com.
(PS: What’s the difference between a chainsaw and an accordian?
Answer: You can tune a chainsaw.
Kidding. I’m just kidding.)

      * Sandy has dubbed her New Posada show on Oct. 29 and 30 “Bewitched,” and she promises a special Broadway segment and a guest to be announced. There is a 15% discount on a la carte dining and non-happy hour drinks, but dinner reservations are suggested.
Tickets, at 100 pesos, are on sale two weeks beforehand at the New Posada. Call 766-1444 or write sandyvandermeer@hotmail.com for more info.
