       * PartiesPartiesParties, it must be Spring again! It was party month last month and they show no signs of abating during April. Counting the huge 3-day fiesta for the opening of the new community Riviera Alta, two St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the rock group “Asi Es La Vida” gift-party for fans, the inaugual party for the San Antonio Theater, dozens of birthdays and benefit get-togethers, and the fabulous Encounter of Indigenous Tribal Elders from 13 countries, Lakeside was buzzing in March, ready for takeoff in April.
       The Rites are upon us… Let there be Spring!

       Sandy Vandermeer’s at it again, producing a show called “Romance in Ajijic,” bearing the same title as her soon-to-be-released CD. The program consists of a collection of her favorite romantic songs. Watch for specifics about this event, due to open the last week in April.        “Comedy Tonight,” a fun shindig put together by Shirley Haverland and Douglas Livingston, appears late this month. Keep an eye out for this special comedy-song-dance revue, featuring Shirley’s unique brand of humor as well as the multi-talented antics of Jeritza McCarter and Bev Coffell. The show will be presented at the new Rivera Alta Theater behind La Floresta, providing a cool atmosphere for warm summer nights. Call 766-4793 for information.
